Impact – Specialist PE teachers from the Skegness Academy work each week with pupils and share their specialist knowledge with teachers. This acts as a mentoring mechanism and helps to improve the quality and breadth of teaching with primary staff feeling more confident in their PE delivery. This has increased pupils’ understanding of the benefits of physical exercise and participation rates in sporting activities. A growing enthusiasm for PE is evident and is directly related to the increase in competitive opportunities and variety of sports on offer. The wide range of expertise made available through Skegness Academy PE staff has a direct impact on the enrichment of both the PE and afterschool curriculum.
Swimming
Geoff Moulder Swimming Pool, Boston
Year 3-6 30 minute lessons for 9 weeks
Year 6 pupils will also participate in Top up Swim as part of Boston SSP.
Impact – All Key Stage Two pupils within the school receive swimming tuition from specialist swimming teachers/instructors. All pupils are working towards the NC recommendation to:
· Swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of 25m.
· Use a range of strokes effectively
· Perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
The school regards swimming as an essential life skill.
Training Days – GDFT Coastal Sport Partnership and SSP
Friday 25th November 2016 Staff training on a new assessment format that can be developed in school alongside the passport.
Further dates will be added throughout the year.
Impact – The PE coordinator and other members of the teaching staff have attended these training days and has then disseminated this information to colleagues throughout the school. Subsequently, an element of gymnastics, dance, development of core skills and Outdoor Adventure Activities can be applied to PE lessons throughout all year groups. This in turn supports the fundamental movements and skills required to be successful in sport for example, agility, balance and coordination.
Allison Consultancy Bespoke Training – 2016/17
One to one development on the PE curriculum (2.5 hours). Outdoor Adventure Activities, whole staff training to continue to develop Outdoor Adventure Activities provision in school (2.5 hours).

Youth Sport Trust
Butterwick Pinchbeck’s Endowed C of E Primary School is a full primary member of the Youth Sport Trust.
Impact – Keeps school updated on the national landscape for PE and sport. Access to nationally recognised PE courses and resources. Also gives the school the chance to self-assess on how effective they are within PE.
Group Together Activity Day
07/2016 – On site climbing wall. All Key Stage two children took part in climbing activities on a portable climbing wall that was set up on the school site.
Impact – Bringing an Outdoor Adventurous Activities focus to the school’s site and facilitating the growth in a range of alternative sporting activities. Creating new experience is essential when considering the opportunities within the local community.

Gifted and Talented Academy Butlin’s, Skegness
2014
The Academy brought the top two performing children from Year Six together for sport with children from the seventeen schools in the GDFT Coastal Sport Partnership. The children spend two days and a night at the camp working with Skegness Academy PE staff working on their performance, leadership and knowledge of PE and sport.
