Visit from Leverton Fire Station

On the afternoon of Wednesday 20th November 2024, Reception were treated to a visit from the Leverton Fire and Rescue team.

Martin, Matt (aka "Fireman Sam"), Luke and Bobby came to answer some thoughtful questions about what it takes to be a fire fighter as we have been learning about special people in our RE work and our topic has been "999 - What's your emergency?"  One child asked, "How are you able to be so brave?" and the very humble answer was, "We're not brave - just well trained to know what to do." Afterwards we all got a chance to climb aboard the engine, try on some of the equipment and even practice with the water hose. Next week we will be returning the favour by drawing some pictures of the fire engine to decorate the fire station.
