Pet's Corner
Animal therapy is proven to support children’s mental health. It helps to develop their sense of responsibility and understanding of looking after and caring for other living things, as well as the benefits of the unconditional love animals can give, including their calming influence on children who are in crisis.
When naming the rabbits, the children were reminded about British Values, in particular the British Value of Democracy. Every child had the opportunity to put forward a rabbit name. In classes the children then voted for their classes favourite name. The 10 names (one from each class) were then put to a whole school vote. Every child had 2 votes and the totals were counted. We are extremely excited to announce that, after all that, the children voted to keep the rabbits original names!!! We officially welcome Marshmallow and Pumpkin to our Butterwick Family. They are so loved already!
